Aisha Jamila Hinds, an American actress, best known for her roles on TV series The Shield and True Blood. Since her debut in 2003, she has proven her range as an actress by giving remarkable performances in TV series such as 9-1-1 Detroit 1-8-7, and Under the Dome. Her performance in Assault on Precinct 13 from 2005 was the very first role to attract her the attention of viewers. But it was her role as Fannie Lou (a woman's advocate for women's rights) on the biographical All the Way film that brought her fame as an actor. Hind was also recognized by critics for her portrayal as Harriet Tubman in WGN America's historical show, the drama Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 20th Century Fox Television renewed the series for a new season. Hind has recently completed filming for the Hollywood movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters and will be released in the middle of the year. Her dad Krishnaraj is an Army scientist who died March 18, 2017 and her mother Vrinda is a housewife. She has an older brother Aditya Rai who works as a merchant navy engineer. Bachchan's brother produced and co-wrote Dil Ka Rishta, along with his mom. Arya Vidya Mandir was the high school where Bachchan attended when her family relocated to Mumbai. She completed her intermediate education at Jai Hind College for a one year, before transferring to D.G. Ruparel College Matunga, where she achieved a 90 percentile for her H.S.C. exams. As an adolescent, she spent her time doing classical and musical dance for five long years. Her favorite subject was Zoology. Bachchan as a student taking classes in architecture, was crowned Miss World in the year 1994. This title launched her onto the front of modeling. The year 2003 was the time she was offered lucrative positions with PepsiCo Inc. as well as Vogue magazine. She also had a contract signed as the L'Oreal Paris spokesmodel. In 1997 she appeared in two critically acclaimed roles: Iruvar and Aur pyaar ho gaya. The films defied the conventional form that was prevalent in Bollywood films of the day, which pushed Bachchan onto the forefront of the New Bollywood. Bachchan's heartbreaking portrayal of Paro she was the lover who is cheated by in Devdas (2002), one of the best-known Bollywood films at the time. The film was first seen at the Cannes Film Festival cemented her as Queen of Bollywood. After that, she was highly praised for her character in the film Chokher (2003) which was a tense thriller based on Rabindranath Tagore's novel. The same year, she was appointed as the first Indian actress on the Cannes Film Festival Jury. Bachchan appeared as Bride and Prejudice by Gurinder Chadha. The film is a ballet and musical version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It was at this point that Bachchan added her star-power as well as beauty to her debut big English-language feature. Then, in 2006, Bachchan came back to Bollywood through the smash production Dhoom: 2 before releasing Provoked: The True Story in English. In April 2007 she married Abhishek Bachchan a frequent co-star in the film and daughter of Bollywood great Amitabh Bachchan in a marriage that brought two of India's most powerful personalities.
