Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is an actress and model. Following her feature film debut with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Photographer approached Doody Doody took up modelling and subsequently the profession of commercial modeling. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle that was carried into her acting. In 1985, following being noticed by the casting directors of a James Bond new film, Doody was cast in a minor part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody had an unspoken role in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias as she appeared in his film of a dream, the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. She was Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fable show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took probably her most high-profile part to date as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody acted in the film with Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. After moving to Hollywood Doody was famous. She replaced Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson role. Then she played Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent alongside Charlie Sheen, as Major League II was released in 1994. Doody played a role in The 2003 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration for an award. Doody's roles included the TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 as well as a booklet on the Holocaust, and the short film Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Doody was later a guest on the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). In November 2018 she received the Almeria award for best film as well as a star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
