Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born on October 1st, 1969) is an American actor, comedian as well as a musician and writer. He was a performer, comedian, and presenter of Late World with Zach (VH1) Galifianakis has starred in films such as The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010), The Campaign (2012), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and Masterminds (2016). He voiced characters in animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone Gone Wrong (2021). Galifianakis is currently hosting the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. He was a regular on the FX series Baskets. In the year 2017 Galifianakis was nominated for win the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actor in the Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis, a North Carolina native, was born October 1 1969, in Wilkesboro. He is the child of Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and Harry Galifianakis, a heating oil dealer. His mother is English and Scottish-Irish, while his paternal grandparents are from Crete. His father was a Greek Orthodox Christian and he was Baptized. He is the father of Merritt and his younger sister, as well as Greg the older brother of his. The cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist, and his uncle, Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School, then went on to North Carolina State University, where he majored in communications. He worked as radio operator at an access station for the public while at college. He taught dance in the year 1991 when he got to know Mary J. Blige. Following his TV debut Boston Common, Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live for two weeks. He's stated "I participated for Saturday Night Live for two weeks, and Britney Spears was host for one week while I was on it. I wrote a sketch. Will Ferrell was act as a bodyguard to her belly button as we tried reduce Will down so that she could fit in a belly button. ...she simply stared at me when I explained the idea to her. Then she replied, "Yeah, that's funny." Galifianakis appeared in Out Cold and also had roles in Corky Romano and Below, Bubble Boy and Heartbreakers.
